Nuclear Marine Corporation

Nuclear Marine Corporation is building the commercial and technical platform for nuclear-powered shipping and floating nuclear power plants.

Advanced Nuclear Reactor Integration for Commercial Shipping and Floating Nuclear Power Platforms.

The decarbonisation of commercial shipping is one of the defining industrial challenges of this century. With the global merchant fleet responsible for nearly three percent of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, and with the International Maritime Organization's 2050 net-zero target now binding shipping companies to a fundamental transformation of their energy systems, the industry faces a choice between incremental improvement and genuine reinvention. Nuclear Marine Corporation exists to advance the reinvention.

Nuclear Marine Corporation is a UK and US registered start-up company specialising in the research, economic feasibility analysis, and systems integration  for advanced nuclear technologies in commercial maritime and offshore energy applications. We operate as a vendor-neutral platform — evaluating and integrating Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) technologies from leading global developers into purpose-designed maritime and offshore platforms. Our work is grounded in deep commercial maritime expertise: our founder brings 22 years of command-level experience across oil, product, and chemical tanker operations, combined with advanced academic research in maritime policy, shipping economics, decarbonisation, shipping management, and nuclear propulsion at leading Universities in the world known for their Maritime expertise.

Our research, feasibility studies, policy analysis, and consultancy work spans four core application areas:

Nuclear-Propelled Commercial Cargo Vessels — Medium, Large and very large cargo vessels, including container ships, bulk carriers, and tankers, operating under escalating carbon cost regimes including EU ETS, IMO's Carbon Intensity Indicator, and forthcoming FuelEU Maritime regulations. Our lifecycle economic modelling analyse the nuclear propulsion technology for commercial deployment.

Floating Nuclear Power Platforms (FNPPs) — Barge-mounted or ship-shaped nuclear power facilities delivering 20 to 300 MWe of clean electricity, or equivalent thermal energy to coastal communities, island grids, industrial zones, ports, and remote infrastructure. The Akademik Lomonosov has demonstrated operational viability; advanced SMR and MMR designs are now positioned to bring this model to a global scale.

Nuclear Powered Desalination Platforms — Integrated MMR and desalination systems capable of delivering both power and potable water to water-stressed coastal regions and island communities, addressing two critical infrastructure challenges simultaneously.

Nuclear-Powered FPSO and Offshore Energy Units — Application of compact reactor systems to offshore production, storage, and offloading vessels, eliminating diesel generation and dramatically reducing the carbon intensity of offshore hydrocarbon, ammonia, and hydrogen production operations.

Nuclear Marine Corporation engages clients and institutional partners across economic feasibility assessment, international regulatory strategy, technology selection and evaluation, policy development, and investment planning. Our work is conducted in direct engagement with reactor manufacturers, and the regulatory landscape: we follow International Maritime Organization proceedings, EU maritime policy developments, and the evolving nuclear regulatory frameworks of national authorities including the USA, and UK Office for Nuclear Regulation.

We are the catalyst between nuclear industry, and maritime industry. Nuclear Marine Corporation is building the knowledge infrastructure, and integration platform that the nuclear maritime industry will need — before that industry fully arrives. Our position at the intersection of commercial maritime operations, shipping economics, and advanced nuclear technology is rare, and it is the foundation on which Nuclear Marine Corporation's value to its partners and clients is built.

From Concept to Commercial Case — Research, Economical Modelling, Consultancy, Project Development, and Engineering for the civil Nuclear Maritime Industry

Nuclear Marine Corporation delivers end-to-end research, economic modelling, consultancy, project development, and engineering services at the intersection of commercial maritime operations, decarbonisation strategy, and advanced civil nuclear technology. We work with shipping companies, energy developers, port authorities, investors, classification societies, and institutional clients from the earliest stage of concept evaluation through to a fully developed commercial and regulatory case ready for investment and execution.

Our work spans the complete development arc of a nuclear maritime or floating nuclear power project — from the first question of whether nuclear is the right solution for a given application, through rigorous economic and technical analysis, to a structured project development plan with a credible pathway to financing and delivery. This is what we mean by concept to commercial case: not research for its own sake, but research and analysis that builds toward a decision, an investment, or a project.

What distinguishes Nuclear Marine Corporation across all five service areas is the combination of commercial maritime operational depth and advanced nuclear policy and economics expertise that its founding team brings. Our economic models are built on genuine understanding of charter party structures, voyage economics, and vessel operating costs. Our regulatory analysis is grounded in direct observation of the policy process rather than secondary interpretation. Our engineering assessments are shaped by the knowledge of what is operationally feasible and what is not.

We work across the full project lifecycle — from concept to commercial case — and we bring the same rigour and specificity to every stage.
